AN EVENT OF RECONCILIATION AND PEACEBUILDING IN THE TRANQUILLITY OF THE WATERBERG INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INAUGURAL LEADERS TO THE LIGHT(LttL) EVENT  25, 26 and 27 March 2017 AN URGENT CALL ON ALL LEADERS TO STEP INTO THE LIGHT  TO LEAD OUR NATION IN A NEW AND FRESH SONG OF HOPE AND THANKSGIVING! Download the event Registration forms HERE Completed forms to be returned through email communication to hswanepoel@agriaa.com The    current    status    of    affairs    in    our    beloved    country    has    reached    critical    proportions    that    stifle    economic advancement and impede progress with the nation-building process.  Within    this    context    of    deteriorating    conditions    and    standards,    it    is    absolutely    imperative    that    the    agricultural community continues to deliver to ensure food security. The   agricultural   community   uniquely   equipped   and   positioned   to   lead   the   reforms   and   set   an   anti-fragile   example to ensure food security. With   proper   inspiration,   hope   and   a   strong   example,   the   same   community   can   readily   facilitate   and   provoke nation-building   and   reconciliation   within   society,   to   ensure   peace   and   tranquillity   in   our   beautiful,   but   troubled land. The   vision   of   the   agricultural   community   as   the   new   hope   merchants   in   society   has   inspired   the   idea   of   organizing a   reconciliation   and   peace-building   event   in   the   Waterberg,   reminiscent   of   the   collaboration   and   cooperation platform that was created in the early nineties during the CODESA process. The   envisaged   weekend   aims   to   facilitate   a   series   of   interactive   activities   amongst   the   different   leadership   cadres in   South   Africa,   in   the   tranquillity   of   the   Legends   Safari   and   Golf   Resort   and   away   from   the   crises,   circumstances and demands of our daily lives. The   vision   has   emerged   from   a   realisation   that   the   agricultural   community   needs   to   embrace   the   opportunities   to redefine   and   re-establish   our   own   roles   as   change   agents   and   movers-and-shakers   in   those   sectors   in   society,   in which we farm, influence, live and trade. Through   the   ability   to   demonstrate   a   number   of   simple   values,   such   as   the   willingness   to   act   in   a   dignified   way,   to show   empathy   and   respect   for   others   and   to   assist   others   to   help   themselves,   the   agricultural   community   can significant contribute towards the building of a common future and national legacies for all South Africans. History   has   shown   us   that   a   single   man   can   make   significance   differences   in   life.      The   agricultural   community   now has   the   unique   opportunity   to   step   up,   take   hands   and   commit   to   change   and   prosperity   for   all   within   South   Africa and the larger African continent. Leaders   to   the   Light   (LttL)   herewith   calls   on   all   leaders   in   South   Africa,   irrespective   of   affiliation,   creed,   culture, nationality,    religion    and    world-views,    to    join    us    from    Saturday    25    March    2017    to    Monday    27    March    2017 ,    to participate in this momentous and uplifting event, experience and opportunity. The   event   will   serve   as   a   venue   to   merge   the   visions   of   leaders   from   various   spheres   of   life   and   different   sectors   of the South African household. The   event   will   also   strive   to   underscore   the   willingness   to   interact   with   one   another;   to   create   new   beginnings   in recognition   of   the   need   to   change   our   circumstances   by   changing   our   own   attitudes   and   commitments   to   a future that resembles our desire to be singing new tunes whilst walking and working in the light. We appreciate and are proud of the commitment of Agri    Limpopo    to    act    as    co-hosts    of    the    event.    The    willingness    of    Agri    All    Africa    to    act    as    Event    Organiser demonstrates    the    inter-connectedness    of    South    Africa’s    plight    with    that    of    the    continent.    The    agricultural community is ready to work together with all stakeholders in society for everybody’s greater good and prosperity. The   efforts   made   in   the   recent   past   in   the   organised   agricultural   environment   to   find   consensus   amongst   various stakeholders   in   order   to   unite   the   voice   of   agriculture   in   this   country   has   led   to   the   establishment   of   the   Agricultural Sector Unity Forum (ASUF). ASUF   already   constitutes   a   platform   of   reconciliation   in   the   spirit   of   finding   new   avenues   of   working   together,   thus serving as an example of the “singing of a new and fresh song”. A   big   cross-section   of   farmers   is   sincere   about   this   vision   to   act   and   serve   as   change-agents   from   ground   level upwards. Agri Limpopo have thus joined hands to approach and invite various role players to participate in this event. By   supporting   this   event   you   will   not   only   demonstrate   the   belief   in   the   urgent   need   to   reach   out   to   others   in   South Africa,   but   also   the   imperative   to   create   stability   within   society   in   order   to   create   an   conducive   environment   for economic investment, food production and social order. Our   country   however   yearns   for   leaders   with   integrity   that   can   initiate   new   beginnings   to   create   an   environment conducive to reconciliation as well as a prospering agriculture. Ultimately   it   is   about   minimizing   the   risk   for   losing   our   food   security   status   but   also   gaining   the   importance   of   using   a mutually accepted value-based platform for interaction – creating the theme and legacy of “better future for all”. The   planned   week-end   will   necessitate   commitment   from   everybody   from   Sunday   19   15h00   until   Tuesday   morning 21 after the final awards and closing ceremony. The importance of the smaller group activities and interactions must be emphasized. Your participation in all team events will be highly appreciated and valued. A    draft    programme    is    attached    and    the    identities    of    the    participants    and    performers    will    follow,    once    their participation has been confirmed. The   focus   of   this   event   is   not   to   generate   money   to   enrich   individuals,   but   to   cover   all   the   expenses   for   the   event. Attached you will also find guidelines on how to contribute in this regard. Processes   were   also   started   to   establish   a   trust   fund   and   a   leadership   academy   for   Leaders   to   the   Light   (LttL)   to support   and   promote   the   development   of   credible   and   value-based   leaders   in   South   Africa.   Men   of   the   Word (Manne van die Woord) will be a close partner in this regard. The   nature   of   envisaged   projects   will   entail   for   example   farming   projects   where   emerging   and   established   farmers meet   to   support   accountable   farming   business   and   thereby   supporting   the   development   of   rural   areas.   Organised agriculture which is hosting this year’s event will be a close partner in this regard. We   are   also   investigating   the   possibility   to   re-establish   an   agricultural   curriculum   and   community   food   production and feeding schemes in our schools.
